Lindsey and Elaine McGonigle - Graduate Profile
Lindsey and Elaine McGonigle are sisters, both graduating from the Ceramics, Glass & Metals Department with their BDes in Glass Design in 2003 and 2001 respectively.
They now have their own studio in County Donegal. Whilst at college they both won many projects and competitions and worked mainly in glass blowing and sand casting.
Their impressive list of achievements include:
- A range of Christmas Tree decorations for the Irish President, Mary McAleese
- Designing cake stands for the famous Bewley’s Café
- A range of vases for the new Contemporary Music Society office
- Designing and producing a 2-metre glass and stone sculpture for the Bord Glas Garden Centre of the Year.
In their studio they are currently working to commissions such as - award items, one-off functional ware and unique wedding gifts. They are now branching out into jewellery that incorporates glass.
