The National College of Art and Design continues its impressive ascent in the QS World University Rankings, achieving new heights in 2025.

The National College of Art and Design is thrilled to announce that we have, yet again, moved up the QS World Rankings by subject (Art and Design) and are now ranked 53rd globally, 19th in Europe, and 1st in Ireland. This follows our steady progression in recent years and highlights our commitment to excellence in art and design education. This advancement of seven places from our 2024 position (60th) demonstrates our continued growth and impact in the international arena.

On this achievement, Professor Alex Milton, Head of the School of Design,  explained: “The QS rankings are the largest world-wide survey of academic and industry opinion. To be ranked so highly is testament to the fantastic talents of our award-winning students, alumni and staff, and demonstrates how our innovative programmes and research activities keep the college and our students at the forefront of global creativity.”

NCAD Director, Sarah Glennie, said: ¨This continued rise in the QS World Rankings to 53rd place globally is a testament to NCAD's unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in art and design education. To be ranked 1st in Ireland, 19th in Europe, and among the top institutions worldwide reflects the extraordinary talent and dedication of our students, the visionary work of our staff, and the impact of our graduates across the creative industries. As we build on this momentum, NCAD remains focused on pushing boundaries, fostering inclusive creative environments, and preparing the next generation of artists and designers to shape our visual culture and respond to the complex challenges of our time."
