Who We Are

‌Who‌ ‌‌are we? ‌ ‌

The Student Learning Support Service is‌ ‌delivered‌ ‌by Assistant Psychologists of ‌the‌ ‌National‌ ‌Learning‌ ‌Network in NCAD.

The Learning Support Service is a ‌confidential‌ ‌academic‌ ‌support‌ ‌and disability service‌ ‌which‌ ‌provides‌ ‌assistance‌ ‌to‌ ‌students‌ ‌to help them better navigate academic and college life.

There are 2 core functions of the Learning Support Service:

1. Disability Support

Help students with a disability register with the service to avail of reasonable accommodations and assistive technology if applicable. This is only available to students with evidence of disability/diagnosis. Please find list of verifiable disabilities and diagnosis here.

2. Learning Support

Provide support for academic and college life to all students in NCAD, including those who do not have a registered disability. The Four Pillars of Learning Support students can avail of are academic support, wellbeing support, social support and organisation support.

4 Pillars of Learning Support

‌‌Learning‌ ‌Support‌ ‌adopts‌ ‌a‌ ‌holistic‌ ‌approach‌ ‌and‌ ‌recognises‌ ‌that‌ ‌student‌ ‌well-being‌ ‌is‌ ‌intertwined‌ ‌with‌ ‌their‌ ‌academic‌ ‌experiences. The‌ ‌service‌ ‌strives‌ ‌to‌ ‌promote‌‌ ‌students'‌ independence‌ ‌and‌ ‌encourages‌ ‌them‌ ‌to‌ ‌develop‌ ‌the‌ ‌skills‌ ‌that‌ ‌will‌ ‌help‌ ‌them‌ ‌to‌ ‌flourish‌ ‌during‌ ‌their‌ ‌time‌ ‌in‌ ‌college. ‌ ‌
