Online Resources

Open Athens

Access to the EML's online resouces is through Open Athens. All current NCAD students and staff members should have been sent a link to register their own Open Athens account, with a username and password. This login is needed for accessing online resouces off campus. If you have not received the link to register, contact NCAD IT Support (itsupport@staff.ncad.ie). 

 

 

Online Databases

The Library offers access to online resources, such as e-journal databases and image libraries. Access the through the library catalogue, or by using your Open Athens login.

EML eBooks

NCAD Library provides access to a growing collection of eBooks in many subject areas. Our eBooks are provided by a variety of suppliers and are available on different platforms - EBSCO, Ebook Central and Bloomsbury - Berg Fashion Library.

All eBooks available via the EML can be accessed both on and off campus. You will be required to log in using your student number and My-NCAD password. Staff will need their staff number / name and campus wi-fi password.

Open Educational Resources (OERs)

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that you may freely use and reuse at no cost, and without needing to ask permission. Unlike copyrighted resources, OER have been authored or created by an individual or organization that chooses to retain few, if any, ownership rights.

EML Library Guides 

EML staff have developed a series of Library Guides for use by NCAD staff and students, offering information and guidance for a range of library resources and subject areas.
