EU and EFTA Undergrad Applications
Information for applicants from EU/EFTA
General
Applications from residents of other member states of the European Union (EU) are considered on the same basis as those from Irish residents.
For the majority of applicants, you will be eligible for EU Fees and EU application route provided that you are a citizen of the European Union & have lived in the EU / EFTA for 3 of the last 5 years.
Please contact us in Admissions, admissions@ncad.ie, if you are unsure about your fee status, or if you think you qualify for EU fees - even if you don’t meet the criteria above.
Entry Requirements for EU / EFTA Applications
Students from outside Ireland who wish to apply to degree courses at NCAD must have a High School Qualification from their home country which is the equivalent to the Irish School Leaving Certificate. You can visit the CAO web site for information on how your school qualifications compare to the Irish equivalent.
Please contact us at the admissions office if your qualification(s) is not listed.
For EU applicants to First Year the procedures are the same as for applicants from Ireland. For further information on closing dates and application procedures visit EU Undergraduate. You can apply through the Central Applications Office or CAO. www.cao.ie
Information for UK and NI Applicants
The Irish and UK Government have signed a memo of understanding on the Common Travel area between Ireland and the UK (May 2019). The MoU acknowledges the importance of education noting that “the CTA affords Irish and British citizens the right of access to all levels of education and training, and associated student support in each other’s State on terms no less favourable than those for citizens of that State.” This means that notwithstanding Brexit, UK & NI students will continue to be eligible for the same fee structures and grants as EU students in Ireland.
