NCAD is 60th in the World in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024

NCAD has climbed up the QS World University Rankings again in 2024

Each year since 2004 Quacquarelli Symonds, a higher education analytics firm, compiles a list of comparative college and university rankings based on performance.  In 2024 three new metrics were added - Sustainability, Employment Outcomes, and International Research Network.

The National College of Art and Design is thrilled and proud to be ranked at 60th place in the 2024 QS World Rankings by subject (Art & Design) that were announced in April 2024.  NCAD is the only college ranked for Art and Design in Ireland.  Furthermore the college is 23rd in Europe and in the top 1% globally.

In 2023 NCAD was ranked 89th in the QS World Rankings by Subject, so a jump of 29 places is wonderful news. Professor Alex Milton (School of Design) explained the process to colleague saying 'This is a fantastic achievement, and a reflection of the high calibre of our students, staff and graduates, the quality of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and the impact of NCAD's research and industry partnerships.'

For the 2024 Subject Rankings, QS analysed reputation and research data of almost 5,000 institutions. From this, 1,561 were ranked across a total of 55 subjects. The rankings provide analysis on the performance of more than 16,400 individual university programmes taken by students at universities in 96 countries across the world.

NCAD Director, Sarah Glennie, said 'This is an amazing achievement for a College of our scale and a true reflection of the brilliance of the NCAD staff and students.'
