Workshop on publishing Design History

Friday 18th October at National Museum of Ireland

Would you like to publish your design history research, but don’t know where to start? Do you have an MA or PhD thesis that you would like to reach a wider audience than the college library? Working on a PhD and thinking about publishing? Not sure about the difference between a journal article and a chapter in a book? Or are you not sure how to go about pitching your article to a journal or proposing a book to a publisher? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then this is the event for you!

At this full day seminar in the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts and History, we will hear in the morning from published Irish authors from TU Dublin, NCAD and IADT about their experience publishing books, journal articles, edited collections and other forms of design writing. The afternoon will be given over to presentations by editors from publishing houses and journals, including Bloomsbury Academic and the Journal of Design History, giving advice about what they look for in submissions from authors.

This is a free event, kindly sponsored by the GradCAM, NCAD and TUDublin, but booking is required to reserve a place.
