Visual Culture Taster 23
Join us for an afternoon in NCAD. We want to tell you about our BA Visual Culture. Get chance to participate in a taster lecture, to meet staff and students and to tour NCAD's Historic Campus
The BA in Visual Culture is a wide-ranging field of study, focusing on the images and objects which have made up our world from the early nineteenth century to the present day. It regards popular culture – like fashion, advertising and cinema – as being just as meaningful and significant as the works of celebrated artists, designers and architects. At NCAD you can decide where your focus in Visual Culture lies.
The programme supports all our learners to become critical, imaginative, civic-minded and well-informed thinkers and practitioners in whatever field they seek to pursue. We welcome learners from diverse backgrounds and levels of prior learning, and seek to make our curriculum relevant and inclusive to all. We place a strong emphasis on the acquisition and employment of core skills in research, in critical thought and in confident communication. In an academic context where much learning is conducted ‘by practice’ in studios and workshops, we encourage openness to experiment, to take risks and to innovate.
