ART AND PHILOSOPHY
The Research Institute together with GradCAM presents Peter Osbourne ‘Art’: From Inter- to Transdisciplinarity.
'Art' is the subject of a shifting multiplicity of disciplinary discourses, each with its own history and set of concerns. What, if anything, gives unity to these discourses? Philosopher Peter Osbourne approaches this question from the dual standpoint of a critical philosophy of contemporary art and a consideration of art as an inherently transdisciplinary concept.
Respondent Dr. Declan Long, Lecturer in Visual Culture, NCAD
Introduced and moderated by Professor Desmond Bell, Head of Research, NCAD
