Rural Electrification and Daily Life in Ireland - a talk

Dr Sorcha O’Brien from the School of Visual Culture will present on her research project on the effects of rural electrification on Irish women’s daily lives at the Research Seminar in Contemporary Irish History at Trinity College Dublin on Wednesday 14th November. The design history project looks at the changes made by electric products in the rural Irish kitchen, as well as what they meant to the women who used them. The talk kicks off in the Long Room Hub at 4pm - no booking required!

The Electric Irish Homes research project is funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council of the UK, through Kingston University London. It includes an exhibition in the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life, which will open in July 2019.
