Book launch and parade to end the ‘In Public In Particular’ project
NCAD takes part in book launch & Noorderlicht Parade 2018
What happens when four European art schools team up for a 3-year journey to take their student-artists, research and art practice into the local streets to discover situations, communities, and struggle for new possibilities?
The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) in Finland, the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland and the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Graphic Arts in Croatia have organised a festive closing event of the ‘In Public In Particular’ project at the Permeke Library in Antwerp (and surrounding streets) on Thursday 29 November 2018
Book presentation & lessons learned : 2-5 pm
Noorderlicht Parade 'Fruitful': 7pm
The lessons learnt during the IPIP project, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme, have been collected in the publication In Public In Particular : Art and Exchange in four European Cities. The book shows the audience research, public workshops and international street happenings which were carried through by artists and art students in close cooperation with street actors and the public of four European streets in Antwerp, Turku, Dublin and Zagreb. There are no do’s and don’ts, instead you’ll find generous testimonials by the artists and educators involved. You and your questions are welcome at their table during the afternoon discussions of the book launch.
