Bruce Lacey
Situated adjacent to NCAD Gallery in the Harry Clarke Lecture Theatre will be two screenings. A six minute film extract from Outside In 1973, about experimental artists and their relationship to the public by students of the National Film School, London and The Bruce Lacey Experience 2012 (72 mins), a documentary film by Jeremy Deller and Nick Abrahams, a characterful overview of a life devoted to the creative possibilities of fantasy and play. “Described by Abrahams as a ‘fragmentary portrait’, The Bruce Lacey Experience functions as an intriguing introduction to Lacey’s life-work about which, the film makes clear, there is always more to discover.” Sara Mullett. Suzanne Walsh
In the Gallery space we are lucky to have artist and NCAD graduate Suzanne Walsh performing from 5pm – 10pm. Walsh’s work encompasses sound, performance, writing and music primarily, and as a musician also is interested in the crossovers between an art and musical practice. Sara Amido
The Gallery foyer will make host to the video piece When I’m Explaining Something to You by Sara Amido. NCAD is pleased to show Amido’s work that focuses on translation and mediation. Within these topics lie the subjects of language, mediation as translation (and vice-versa), misinterpretations, andconsideration of the medium itself.
