Eduroam

"eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.

eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop."

Connection Instructions for NCAD staff and students

For Apple Mac users:
Select SSID eduroam from the wireless drop down list
Put in username
(for Staff your full email address, for Students studentnumber@ncad.ie)
Put in password that you normally use for getting on the SSID NCAD when on campus
Agree to accept Certificate

For Windows users:
Select the SSID: eduroam
Network Authentication: WPA2
Data Encryption: AES
EAP Type: Protected EAP
Authentication Method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)
When prompted put in username
(for Staff their full email address, for Students studentnumber@ncad.ie)
Put in password that you normally use for getting on the SSID NCAD when on campus

Please check here where you will find detailed screen images of how to configure your wireless network card. The only difference is that you are putting in "eduroam" instead of "NCAD" as outlined on the notes

Connection Instructions for non NCAD staff and students

Please ensure that your laptop works on the eduroam service in your own institution first before trying it on the NCAD Campus.
