Advanced practice in studio ceramics with particular interests in hand built constructions. Vast experience in Industrial and studio production techniques in tableware underpins technical considerations and methodology. A recent research trip to China is informing current research that is based around spatial issues through the making of forms and structures defined by mass and volume. Drawing is important in the process. The concerns in the work are both aesthetic and as modes of personal expression.
Design Education as it pertains to the development of future teachers of art, craft and design, and their needs as artists, designers and as teachers at post-primary level.
Membership of professional bodies includes Irish Contemporary Ceramics, Institute of Designers in Ireland and a Teaching Council Advisor on applications for the recognition of post-primary teaching qualifications.
