NCAD Research - Knowledge Transfer

The NCAD’s vision is to be recognised nationally as the premier innovative supporter of knowledge transfer in visual arts and design.

By “knowledge transfer and innovation” NCAD understands activities that are concerned with the generation, use, application and exploitation of knowledge and other NCAD capabilities outside the immediate academic environment. The question of knowledge transfer is therefore not solely restricted to issues of business practice or commercial application. The College’s contribution to the arts, culture and heritage forms a vital part of its knowledge transfer. A key dimension of knowledge transfer activity is the maintenance of strategic relationships with non-academic agencies in the public and private sector. Other key areas of strategic initiative for knowledge transfer are: intellectual property; placement; in-service skills-transfer; consultancy; and public dissemination of research. (See further NCAD’s Knowledge Transfer Strategy 2007.)
