Meet Guntar & Bobster – the digital media creations of the Future Creators Cadets – The Digital Hub, 1 March 2017

The Future Creators Cadets was established by The Digital Hub in 2015 and is delivered with the National College of Art and Design and H2 Learning.

The Digital Hub interviewed three participants of the Future Creator Cadets programme, Blessing, Evan, Fatma, and the Programme Coordinator, Kate Delaney to hear about their latest digital creations - musical instruments they have named the Guntar & the Bobster.

Evan, Fatma, and Blessing have been attending classes at The Digital Hub since late January. They are three of 15 young people from Dublin 8, who are taking part in the Future Creators Cadets programme which is run by The Digital Hub, the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) and H2 Learning.

In this video, Kate asks Blessing, Evan, Fatma questions about their experience of the Future Creators Cadets and why they joined this after-school programme. We also hear about the digital instruments they have been creating over the last five weeks and what they hope to learn in the five remaining weeks of the programme.

The "Guntar" is a guitar in the shape of a gun that plays music. The "Bobster" is an instrument shaped like a monster with a flute attached to make sound.

The young people will have an opportunity to demo their creations at a ‘show-and-tell’ event on Monday, 20th March at The Digital Hub. The Cadets with their parents, siblings and tutors will showcase their work and most importantly, the digital skills they have developed.
