Student Shadowing Project

14th and 15th March 2007

The Student Shadowing Project offers prospective college students an opportunity to find out more about their chosen area of study and to experience student life first-hand. It is a way of putting them in touch with someone, near their own age, who can answer their questions and discuss any worries they may have about coming to college.

This is the first time NCAD will offer a Student Shadowing Project. 28 second level pupils will be in College on the 14th and 15th March.  Each Department will host two or three pupils over the two days.

For further details on these events please contact:

Finola Mc Ternan, School Liaison Officer -636 4217 or Dervil Jordan, Access Co-Ordinator – Ext: 636 4300.

PARALLEL UNIVERSES

Making Do and Getting By + Thoughtless Acts
(mapping the quotidian from two perspectives)

Kevin Henry, IDSA Columbia College Chicago 10.30 am in The Noel Sheridan Room.

Wednesday March 7

This lecture exmines the many ways in which photography is used to map our world so as to better understand it. Looking particularly at the images of British sculptor Richard Wentworth and design researcher Jane Fulton Suri from IDEO, the presentation will delve deeply into what motivates them to use the medium and how they have learned to read images and apply those readings to their respective practices.
