Electronic resources
NCAD Library subscribes to a growing list of art and design journal databases and online journals. These can be accessed from the Learning Centre.
Language Learning Materials
NCAD’s Language collection was instigated in order to give students the opportunity to build upon the language skills they had already acquired at secondary school, as well as to master new languages. The service is particularly aimed at those who plan to participate in student exchange schemes or to spend time abroad for cultural or career purposes.
The greatest variety of material is available in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Irish and English as a foreign language. However, there are also course materials in other languages including Japanese, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Turkish, Hindi, Russian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish and Slovene.
The language courses vary from survival to advanced levels. Most of the courses are presented through English and are especially designed for independent study.
The collection is being added to all the time. Consideration is given to all requests for new additions.
Learning Centre staff are on hand to advise students on the materials.
