About NCAD Library

The National College of Art and Design Library is an important and exciting information resource for those studying art and design in Ireland. The main emphasis of the collection is on art and design from the nineteenth century onward. Many related subject areas such as film and media are also covered. A particular emphasis is placed on collecting material of contemporary interest.

The Library has a collection of over 81,000 books and exhibition catalogues and subscribes to about 300 serials. Much of the collection is on open access.

The Library is also home to the National Irish Visual Arts Library (NIVAL), a major collection of material relating to Irish art and design.
