Festus C.R.A Ikeotuonye has research interests in Sociology of Knowledge and Coloniality, World systems Analysis, Modernities, Border thinking, Geopolitics of knowledge, Subaltern Knowledges, Post-Occidentalism and Cross-Genealogies. Sociology of Arts, Images, Representation, Simulation and Cultural production. Sociology of Religion, Cosmologies, Institutions and Organizations. Philosophy of the Sciences, Cultural Anthropology, Global Studies and Integrated Humanities.

His recent publications are: Lateral Shades of Social Engineering: A Critical Exploration of 'interest representation', 'state' and 'development'. The Oxford University Press and Community Development Journal, Special Edition. January 2002.
