Anna Moran is Coordinator of the MA in Design History and Material Culture. She is a graduate of University College Dublin and the V&A/RCA MA in Design History. Her research interests concern the interaction between people and objects in the long eighteenth century and she is currently in the final stages of her PhD on the production and consumption of glass in late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century Ireland. Her research interests also include the material culture of dining, the history of retailing and twentieth-century Irish design history. Anna has published a number of articles and reviews including contributions to Irish Architectural and Decorative Studies, Annales of the 16e Congres du l'Association Internationale pour l'Histoire du Verre, the Journal of the Glass Association and the Irish Arts Review. Her essay on the promotion of goods designed by the Kilkenny Design Workshops during the 1960s and 1970s will be included in Negotiations: modernity, design and visual culture in Ireland, 1922-1992, a collection of essays edited by Linda King and Elaine Sisson, to be published by Cork University Press in 2010. She has delivered a number of papers at international conferences, including the Design History Society Conference 2006 in Delft and the International Association for the History of Glass conference, 2004. She is on the editorial committee for the peer reviewed journal, Artefact, and as a member of the Design Research Group, she co-organised the international conference 'Love Objects: engaging material culture', which was hosted by NCAD on 13 & 14 February 2008, and is currently co-editing a collection of essays stemming from this conference.
