Essay / Thesis Guidelines and Submission Deadlines
Thesis Timetable 2005 - 2006
| 17 October: | Final confirmation of Thesis proposal. |
|---|---|
| 31 October: | Thesis plan submitted to tutor: aims & objectives, chapter heading and synopsis of content for each chapter. Progress report to studio staff. |
| 05 December: | Review of completed chapters. Progress report to studio staff, noting any particular problems or absenteeism. |
| 03 January: | COMPLETE AND TYPED DRAFT of Thesis submitted to tutor. Entire manuscript must be handed in IMMEDIATELY after Christmas break, so there is sufficient time for tutors to read them carefully and to be returned with adequate time for revision. Failure to submit draft on time will be taken into account in final marking.
This is a key date, as tutors need a month to read all their students' theses and to make corrections and suggestions for revision. You will need to leave enough time to make these changes. If drafts are not submitted by this date there is no guarantee that there will be time for them to be fully read and discussed. |
| 20 February: | THESIS DUE DATE (Faculty Office closes at 4.00 p.m.)
One hardbound copy of thesis must be handed directly to Faculty Secretary, who will record receipt in a logbook. Theses received between 21st and 27th February will be subject to penalty of 2% per working day. Students should have a second copy of the thesis for their own reference and it should be made available during assessments if required by the Faculty. |
| 27 February: | Final date for late Thesis submission (end of penalty period)
No Theses will be accepted after 4.00 p.m. Monday 27th February 2006. |
Please Note:
- Thesis must be prepared in accordance with 'Guidelines for Undergraduate Written Thesis Presentation.'
- Final Assessment of Thesis includes Fulfilment of requirements. Research, Research Application and Analysis. It should be noted that the first of these categories includes student tutorial attendance and preparation, as well as compliance with submission drafts at designated times, and as such, will be evaluated as part of the overall assessment.
