From noise to music, footsteps to beats, coughs to rhythms. John Cage once said that any noise can take place in a piece of music, my work investigates such possibilities. My degree project consists of about seventy microphones and thirty speakers. The microphones are sub-miniature i.e. about the size of a pea and speakers about the size of a halved apple. The microphones are wired to a computer and other audio hardware devices. Each noise produced by the audience will be played-back in a repetitive manner while ascending the four flight staircase, thus creating music from noise.
