The National College of Art and Design has a major commitment to postgraduate studies and our policy is to achieve a substantial growth in our postgraduate courses and numbers.We offer a range of specialisms and welcome applications from graduates capable of high quality achievement.

The Faculty of Fine Art welcomes applications from candidates wishing to pursue studio based study in Media, Painting, Fine Print or Sculpture, or any combination of these leading to the award of an MA.

A well focused proposal on the nature of the work proposed is essential.

The Faculty also welcomes submissions for consideration at PhD level.

Media
MA - Art in the Digital World

This unique course looks at how contemporary art practice responds to the
Digital World. The course is open to graduates from creative backgrounds
whoseek the opportunity to recast their existing practice in light of, and
in response to, the possibilities provided by new digital and virtual
media technologies. Former students on the course have included painters,
architects, filmmakers, computer scientists, photographers, theologians
and musicians.

The studio space is available to students 8am-9pm, Monday to Friday.
Tuesday is the key day with students attending workshops and seminars,
other optional activities happen throughout the week.

The course also offers the option of a period of study abroad (normally
in the first part of year 2) and an artist's placement with an appropriate
organisation in Ireland (normally in the second-half of year 1). These
opportunities for specialised study are discussed with the teaching team
in the Media Department.
