MA in Visual Arts Education
NCAD Placing the arts at the centre of education
Educators from all sectors – Primary and Post-primary Education, Further and Higher Education, Community and Adult Education, the cultural sector and beyond – are invited to apply for this innovative new programme.
Commencing in Autumn 2009, this is a 90-credit, 2-year taught Masters programme featuring
- A specific focus on educational leadership in the arts, incorporating arts-led curriculum planning, out-of-school links and community participation;
- Collaborative work with other agencies, centres and colleges in arts-related work;
- Arts-based research methods, including a variety of options of presentation modes:
- Use and exploration of digitalmedia;
- Innovative forms of assessment.
- Evening classes to facilitate work commitments (two evenings per week in year 1, one evening in year 2)
Applicants should have an honours primary degree (or equivalent) and appropriate professional experience. Shortlisting and interviews will apply.
