Samantha Corcoran, BA(Hons)
Acting Lecturer in Printed Textiles
Samantha Corcoran graduated from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin, Ireland in 1995 with a Joint Degree - B.A. (Hons) Commendation in Textile Print and the History of Art and Design.
Throughout her career to date she has pursued the exploratory aspect of her work on fabric taking on a wide range of diverse commissions - pushing artistic and technical boundaries with each one.
Samantha has collaborated with Irelands pre-eminent fashion designers including John Rocha, Marc O’Neill, and Mary Gregory on both mainline and jeansline collections . Her work has been featured in a myriad of international publications including Vogue, Elle,The Face, G.Q., Hello, Select, and International Textiles. Many of her pieces have also appeared in features in notable newspapers including The Sunday Times Style Magazine, The Guardian, The Observer, The Irish Times, The Irish Independent and The Tribune. Indeed world renowned style programme, Fashion TV (seen regularly on Sky T.V.) have also depicted her creations.
She has worked on many corporate projects over the years including work for Guinness Storehouse, Virgin Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
Her most recent work deals more with large scale digital art pieces for interiors and corporate buildings.
She has 11 large scale digital pieces in the state collection and is currently working on a % for art commission – a large scale digital art piece for Letterkenny Institute of Technology, Donegal.
Samantha currently lectures in textile print, computer design and digital print in NCAD.
