Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement Steering Group
Terms of Reference
- To oversee the implementation of the QA/QI process in all units of the College over the timeframe agreed with Academic Council and to develop and review procedures.
- To agree the principles that will inform the process.
- To determine the nature of the supports available to each unit in order to assist effective engagement with the QA/QI process.
- To suggest appropriate training for College staff in order to improve the skills required for the process.
- To appoint the Facilitator for each unit on the recommendation of the head of unit.
- To set target dates for the completion of different stages of the process.
- To receive progress reports on meeting such targets.
- .To consider any issue referred to the Steering Group by a Unit Review Committee.
- To appoint the External Peer Review Group.
- To endorse the final report of the Unit Review Committee for submission to the External Peer Review Group.
- To receive the Report of the External Peer Review Group and to recommend it for publication to Academic Council subject to such amendments as are deemed appropriate.
- To assist reviewed Faculties/Departments on the preparation of quality improvement plans and to monitor the implementation of those plans.
